Baby A.'s trip to Alliance Bank Stadium

CJ played in a softball tourney yesterday to benefit the American Heart Association. The tournament consisted of eight teams: the family who organized the tourney, six from the local media, and one from SU News Services. Thanks to Baby A., I was sitting on the bench for this one, but I did get to help with keeping the book and photography.

The SU team won the tournament in a 21-10 win over the Walters Family, who hosted the tourney. The first game was against News Channel 9 at Onondaga Lake Park at the glorious hour of 8 a.m. (10-8). The second game, vs. Radio Disney (19-0 in five innings), and the third game v.s the Family were played at Syracuse's Alliance Bank Stadium, home of the AAA baseball team the Syracuse Chiefs. For those readers not from the area, the Chiefs were formerly affiliated with the Toronto Blue Jays and were just recently selected as the AAA affiliate of the Washington Nationals (yay for the D.C. connection!)

It was really neat to watch the game from the dugout and to walk on the field. I think CJ and the rest of the team had a really great time playing at the stadium. Of course, winning wasn't too shabby either! We also had a handful of very supportive spectators, including CJ's parents and teammate's wives, kids, husbands and friends.
