The first 10 days have flown by! We are settling in as a family and getting used to this new lifestyle. I can't put into words how blessed we are or what having this new person in our lives means to us. It's amazing!!!
I am healing nicely, though I can't bend or lift anything heavier than Cooper, so CJ is once again doing the work of two people, keeping him pretty crazed and busy. We've been trading the night shift and it's working out pretty well, we're both actually getting sleep now. The first weekend home from the hospital was rough, I felt like a zombie.
In spite of that, Cooper is a really great baby! His only complaints are being undressed for any reason (he hates diaper changes the most) and having to wait for his bottle. He is starting to be more aware of things around him and we tried some tummy time today but he wasn't really thrilled with it. We will keep trying on that.
His jaundice from last week has cleared up and he is now his birth weight plus one ounce, up from the 6 lbs, 12 oz he dropped to in the hospital following birth. His pediatrician is very happy with his progress. We think we have a little piggy on our hands - this boy likes his ba-bas.
The dogs are also adjusting nicely and seem to really enjoy their little brother. They like to give him kisses on the head and sit next to us when he is on our laps or getting his bottle.
We have had some visitors and celebrated the holidays with family here at the house. Even though it was Cooper's first Christmas, it really didn't seem like Christmas with the whirlwind of his arrival last week. Next year will be a lot more fun with a one-year old running around!
Here are photos from the first 10 days.

He's beautiful - it must be so nice to have him home for the holidays. Congrats to both of you!
