Cooper is here!

Our son is here! We welcome Cooper Luis, who was born Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008 at 1:36 p.m. He weighs 7 lbs, 7 oz and is 19.25 inches long.

We had a very hectic night/morning. Got to hospital at 3:15 a.m., started pushing for 2 hours around 10 a.m. with no luck. They originally thought he was over 9 lbs and to add to that, was turned around. Did not make any real progress pushing and with his position unchanged they brought me in for a c-sec at 1 p.m. We are both doing great. He is a little black and blue on his nose and face but otherwise looks perfect! I am slowly mending and trying to catch up on sleep.

Cooper's name has special meaning for our fathers sides of the family. My Dad was born in Cooperstown, NY and lived there for the first few years of his life. My Grandpa Winne and other family are also from the area. Luis is CJ's Dad's middle name and was his father's first name.

We will be at Crouse until at least tomorrow. Visitors welcome.

Congratulations again! The world has been waiting for Cooper and now he has arrived. What a sweet baby boy. Can't wait to hear how all the parenting is going and how you're feeling, Jaime. Good luck with everything! Have a wonderful and happy holiday with your new bundle of joy. What a great way to start the holiday season of '08! :)
