I feel like so much has happened since my last post. Cooper turned 12 months old on Dec. 16. It was definitely a very busy month for us, between Coop's first Thanksgiving, all of our birthdays, Christmas, New Year's and everything in between.
The end of November marked Coop's first Thanksgiving and he did great. He loves to eat, and eat he did. We also had our annual "photo shoot" for the Christmas card. We couldn't do a card or the photo shoot last year, thanks to bed rest, so it was fun posing for Jessika again. She is such a wonderful photographer, it was hard to pick just a few shots for the card this year.
On Dec. 10 we found out that we're having a GIRL this time! That was so much fun and we are very excited that our little family will grow by one in just 4 short months. To be blessed with a boy and a girl is really wonderful, we are so thrilled.
We threw Cooper a Yankees/baseball-themed first birthday party on Dec. 19 and had a lot of fun celebrating with our family and friends. Cooper got so many great gifts, we are still trying to clear out space to house everything. We are truly blessed to have such generous family and friends. I am still amazed at how "neatly" he ate his birthday cake. We were expecting a much bigger mess!
We also celebrated CJ's 32nd birthday and my 30th. We marked my "big" birthday with a 3-day trip to NYC to visit friends in the area and to see my good friend Mary and her fiance Dave who were home for the holidays from Hong Kong. It was a great visit and we had lots of fun. Cooper and the doggies spent time with their grandparents in Oneida while we were away.
Of course, we had a blast celebrating Christmas this year. Much different than celebrating Cooper's first Christmas last year when he was just a little over one-week old. He doesn't yet understand Christmas, but he was totally into opening presents just to get his hands on the wrapping and gift boxes. Maybe he will be more interested in toys next year! :) We had many family celebrations to attend and Cooper was so much fun at all of them.
We also spent a low-key New Year's Eve with our friends, ordering in Thai and watching our kids play. And we were home in time to watch the ball drop as a family, which was fun.
We are looking forward to the next few months as a family of three before our little girl arrives in late April. Until next month, enjoy all of the above photo albums as well as the monthly photo set.
Hope you and yours had happy, healthy holidays! Happy 2010.
