However, when the tech tried to measure the fold at the back of the neck for the genetic testing portion, little Baby A decided he/she didn't want to cooperate. Another stubborn Winne-Alvarez on our hands! In order to measure the fold, she needed to take the photo and measurement three times. The first wasn't in the exact position she needed, though she said it looked thin, which is a good thing. Techs need the baby in "military profile" in order to take the measurements, which means the baby cannot have its chin resting on its chest.Which, of course, our baby decided was his/her position of choice this afternoon!
After pushing on my tummy a lot and even having me drink a fruit juice box to try to get things moving, Baby A did everything BUT move into military profile for us. So, I have to return next week for another sono and to complete the genetic testing portion of my lab work. More needles and stomach prodding! My sister says I should just get used to it. So, I am! Ha ha.
The good news is that from what my Dr. did see on the sono today, she said everything looks great. The baby is as big as it should be at this point and everything is fine with me. Happy to hear that.
Here are the sono pictures -- enjoy!
